MUNICIPALITÉ DE SAINT-MATHIEU
The proposed experience
Saint-Mathieu is a rural municipality of 2,300 inhabitants located a few minutes from the Montreal bridges and whose territory is 97% agricultural. Saint-Mathieu combines proximity to urban services with the tranquility of wide open spaces in a rural environment. Accessible by highways 15 and 30, crossed by the Tortue River where snapping turtles favor its banks to nest and enjoy sunbathing. Located in the heart of the village core, its church houses within its walls a true jewel, stained glass windows cut, between 1890 and 1930, from antique glass, the whole of which has been classified as a “work of art” in the Cultural Heritage Register since 1977.
